A Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential program with a mission for character maturity and family unity. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like environment where struggling adolescents take on constructive life attitudes, grow in their faith, live in a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. They balance hard work with engaging recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Boys ranch offer gorgeous locations that are a great place for backpacking, camping and hiking.
Each teen begins by establishing trust with an adult mentor. Engaging activities and daily chores contribute to a strong work ethic and numerous other attractive character qualities. Then, supported by a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can overcome the destructive choices that had held him or her back. Boys ranches also usually provide individual and group counseling to improve attitudes and behaviors.
Boys ranch residents are provided a fully accredited school that also offers independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, allowing them to learn as they do best and catch up on any missed credits. Boys ranch believe the discipline of hard work and care for animals can play a key part in any successful education, and we convey this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics can include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
Genuine family restoration occurs only with the total commitment of parents. We require parents to attend three family workshops during the year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen on our campus. They assist frequent contact between the students and their parents using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and relationship building without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
Boys ranches help adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we teach values and character traits that will benefit your child all of his or her life.
