A Boys Ranch is a Christian residential school with a heart for character growth and family unity. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like environment where troubled adolescents develop constructive life attitudes, flourish in their belief, find a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. They balance hard work with inviting recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Their remote location have much to offer in backpacking, camping and hiking.
Boys ranches are like therapeutic boarding schools that endeavor to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and coaching them to rebuild relationships. Teens come to boys ranches from across the country, including from Kansas, and often find it beneficial to spend time in a new environment separate from negative peers near home.
Each child begins by establishing trust with an adult mentor. Strenuous activities and daily chores foster a solid work ethic and many other positive character qualities. Then, supported by a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can overcome the conflicts that had caused the need for intervention. They also offer individual and group counseling to improve attitudes and behaviors.
Boys ranch residents are provided a fully accredited school that also uses independent study courses. All credits accumulated transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced nature of the coursework suits our students well, allowing them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. They believe that responsibility and a disciplined life plays a key role in any successful education, and we convey this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics can include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
True family restoration occurs only with the full cooperation of parents. Parents are usually invited to attend family workshops for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. Boys ranches provide frequent contact between parents and adolescents using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and relationship building without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
We are a Christ-centered youth ranch that guides adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we stand by values and character traits that will serve your child all of his or her life. Please consider looking outside of Kansas to see how boys ranches can bring restoration to your family. To find out more, we invite you to investigate our website, then fill out our inquiry form or call us today.
Therapeutic boarding schools for troubled boys in Kansas: Kansas is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansas River which flows through it, which in turn was named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area. The tribe’s name (natively kk:ze) is often said to mean “people of the wind” or “people of the south wind,” although this was probably not the term’s original meaning. Residents of Kansas are called “Kansans.” |
