A Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential program with a heart for character growth and family unity. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like environment where struggling adolescents develop more positive life attitudes, flourish in their faith, live in a safe and nurturing environment, and conquer their challenges and problems. They balance hard work with engaging recreation including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our beautiful mountainous location has much to offer in backpacking, camping and hiking.
Boys ranches work hard to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and coaching them to rebuild relationships. Teens attend boys ranches from across the nation, including from Georgia, and often find it beneficial to experience a new environment away from negative peers near home.
Each child begins by establishing trust with an adult mentor. Strenuous activities and daily chores build a strong work ethic and numerous other attractive character qualities. Then, supported by a relationship with a mentor, the child can work through the conflicts that had held him or her back. They also offer individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Boys ranch residents are usually provided a fully-accredited education, transferrable credits, and real teachers. All credits accumulated transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced quality of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn as they do best and catch up on any missed credits. Boys ranch believe the discipline of hard work and care for animals can play a key part in any successful education, and we convey this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics can include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
True family restoration takes place only with the total commitment of parents. We require parents to attend three family workshops each year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their child at our facility. Boys ranches provide frequent contact between parents and adolescents using tools such as letter writing, which promotes communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face interaction.
We are a faith-based program that guides adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, they believe in building good character that will benefit your child into adulthood. Please think about looking beyond Georgia to see how boys ranches can bring about restoration in your family.
