Timothy Hill Academy is a faith-based, nonprofit therapeutic boarding school designed for adolescent boys, ages 13–17, who are struggling with emotional trauma, destructive behavior, family conflict, or personal instability. Across its two peaceful, ranch-style campuses in New York and Tennessee, Timothy Hill offers more than structure—it offers redemption, renewal, and a fresh start for boys and their families.

Rooted in a Christ-centered mission and a proven relational model, Timothy Hill Academy blends equine-assisted therapy, adventure-based learning, and vocational development with 24/7 supervision and mentoring. Our highly trained team surrounds each young man with care, direction, and compassion, helping him rediscover who he is in God’s eyes and embrace his future with hope.

Boys thrive in our active, hands-on model of learning, with daily participation in adventure activities like horseback riding, hiking, water sports, and snow outings. These experiences don’t just build skill—they forge resilience, teamwork, and perseverance.

Faith-Based Counseling and Spiritual Growth

Every young man at Timothy Hill is invited into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our trauma-informed therapy is enriched by daily devotions, chapel services, and pastoral mentorship. Boys receive trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), as well as individualized and group counseling rooted in Biblical principles.

We specialize in treating a variety of emotional and behavioral conditions, including:

• Depression and Anxiety
• Substance Abuse and Self-Harm
• Abandonment and Trust Issues

Each young man is met where he is and offered a pathway to healing, with the support of loving adults and a community of brothers growing alongside him.

Equine Therapy and Relational Mentorship

Through our nationally respected Equine Therapy program, boys build trust, empathy, and emotional self-awareness. Working with horses fosters responsibility and reveals powerful insights into behavior and leadership. Coupled with round-the-clock mentorship and house-parent support, students are consistently reminded they are not alone.

Life Skills Through Real Work and Vocational Training

Timothy Hill Academy is proud to provide boys with real-world experience through vocational training, service projects, and workforce partnerships. Teens develop trade skills in:

• Auto Mechanics & Computer Technology
• Culinary Arts & Barista Training
• Animal Husbandry & Agriculture

Boys also manage real paychecks, learn financial responsibility, and participate in off-campus job opportunities under supervision. These programs lay the groundwork for independent living, healthy adulthood, and restored self-worth.

Academics with a Mission

While the emphasis is on healing and growth, academics are not neglected. Each student works toward earning a high school diploma, gaining skills for college, or qualifying for a GED. Students can earn driver’s permits and participate in the Workforce Development Program, with support from BOCES and local businesses.

Family Restoration and Lasting Change

We believe healing is incomplete without family restoration. Parents are welcomed into the journey through regular communication, scheduled visits, and pastoral guidance. Many families rediscover the bond that trauma or rebellion once stole. Reconciliation is not only possible—it’s expected.
