We can help your child if he suffers from Reactive Attachment Disorder (or RAD), a rare but serious condition in which he has been unable to form a healthy emotional attachment with mother (or primary caregiver). Steady care of a baby’s physical and emotional requirements allows him to learn to bond, but lacking that (i.e.: from due to temporary foster care, adoption), he may have difficulty in establishing any close bonds.
There are two types of RAD (sometimes also known as Radical Attachment Disorder). One may find your boy removed and isolated, unemotional, self-conscious, reticent or introverted. With the other kind he might be unbecomingly familiar or demonstrative with total strangers.
A stable and nurturing environment (such as what you’ll find at A Boys Ranch) is crucial for your son to learn to create healthy connections. Family therapy may be vitally important in his treatment of Reactive Attachment Disorder, encouraging interaction between you and him. By training you in (parenting) skills that will help heal the Disorder, he can steer clear of mounting social and behavioral issues later in life, and instead go on to enjoy healthy relationships with you and with others.
A Boys Ranch is a Christian therapeutic boarding School with a non-threatening, nurturing environment for boys struggling with emotional, academic or behavioral issues. We are here to assist your son in learning to overcome destructive decisions, to attain academic and physical accomplishments, to form Christian values and learn discipline, while learning to view himself as a unique and valuable person.
Is your boy struggling or out of control? Have you seen dramatic changes in his behavior? Boys ranches is here to improve his behavior and life goals, to tackle and conquer his problems, in our structured lifestyle on our 10-acre Montana campus.
We utilize textbooks in our academic courses, and also various non-traditional educational techniques, which are designed to more fully engage your son in his education, employing alternative approaches if he has exhausted the conventional approaches. We provide counseling to deal with issues and struggles, and at the same time believe in time for fun, so he’ll have access to a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as rock climbing, fishing, swimming and horseback riding.
