Our therapeutic boarding school is a Christian residential program with a mission for character growth and family renewal. They provide treatment in an active environment in which struggling adolescents adopt constructive life attitudes, grow in their faith, live in a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. They balance hard work with engaging recreation including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our beautiful mountainous location has much to offer in backpacking, camping and hiking.
Boys ranches strive to promote academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and helping them to rebuild relationships. Teens attend boys ranches from across the country, including from Dallas, Texas, and often find it beneficial to experience a new environment separate from negative peers near home.
Each boy begins by forming trust with an adult mentor. Engaging activities and daily chores contribute to a strong work ethic and many other desirable character qualities. Then, supported by a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can work through the conflicts that had held him or her back. Boys ranches also use individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Boys ranches usually provide a fully accredited education that also offers independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced nature of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. Boys ranch believe the discipline of hard work and care for animals can play a key part in any productive education, and we convey this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics can include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
Lasting family restoration occurs only with the full cooperation of parents. We require parents to attend three family workshops each year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen on our campus. We support frequent contact between parents and teens using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and relationship building without the emotional charge of face-to-face interaction.
We are a faith-based program that guides adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we teach values and character traits that will benefit your child for the rest of his or her life. Please consider looking beyond Dallas, Texas to see how boys ranches can bring restoration to your family.
